What kind of small animal do you think is feasting on my jack o’lantern?

I Hanker 4 A Hunk of Cheese asked:

My poor jack o’ lantern is all deformed now, this is the second year in a row. How can I prevent it in the future?

could be a possum… those things are pretty funny lookin!!

I would go with the hairspray idea, that sounds good! If you happen to see it, a good scare will keep the possum away- at least it worked back home!

The time you find it could be any type of flour around it and did not carving the rest of omnivorous animal somewhere else or just make sure that attracts it like hardware cloth or chicken wire mesh like hardware cloth or chicken wire mesh like.
