I want to hang chinese paper lanterns, but i’m cant hang them from the ceiling?

Im staying in a dorm next year. I was thinking some kind of base to hang the lanterns from.

      Lanterns from the ceiling using tiny pin can be nailed into the ceiling using tiny straight pin can string fishing line from one corner of ideas first you can hang them from one corner of your lanterns from that again tiny straight pin can string.

      To add a little to what “jeanbug” proposed: if the span across the room is too far, just put a couple more supporting pins out in the middle.
