How can I make green “boots” for my green lantern costume?

Tobias B asked:

I created a really cool Green Lantern costume for Halloween this year, however the one detail that I’m missing is the boots. I thought I would spray paint a pair of large socks green and slip them on over my shoes, but I can’t seem to find socks large enough to slip over them! Does anybody have any suggestions on how to make green “boots”?

get an old pair of shoes and some green material and a glue gun. Cut the material so that you have enough to cover the tops of the shoes and your legs then start gluing. Cover the shoes and then the extra can be ties onto your legs with green strings or strips of cloth.
